O&M Manager

Job Title: O&M Manager

Location: East Chicago, Indiana


EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Ten (10) + years in power station operations and maintenance.
  • Five (5) + years with water treatment systems.
  • Three (3) + years’ supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and directly
    related experience
  • Solid fundamental understanding of plant processes and equipment.
  • Understands and can implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and react accordingly.
  • Expertise with steam turbines to diagnose operational issues and develop overhaul plans.
  • Understanding of environmental and safety regulations and compliance programs.
  • Root cause analysis/incident investigation.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts for the sale or purchase of goods and service.
  • Good Listener - Ability to process viewpoints from all in the group.
  • Effectively work with industrial host representatives and operators.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the environment that the facility operates in and develop appropriate controls
    and processes to maintain compliance with existing laws, regulations and permits.
  • Develop and nurture a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused,
    innovative, and achievement-oriented team.

EHS Specialist

Job Title: EHS Specialist

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of health and safety experience in an industrial environment.
  • Bachelor degree in health and safety or equivalent combination of education and directly
    related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to process viewpoints from all in group.
  • Experience with Union relations and work environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb stairwells and ladders.
  • Outstanding management, human relation and technical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Understanding of necessary federal and state licenses and permits.
  • Root cause analysis/incident investigation.
  • Safety as a core value, proactive energetic attitude.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and continuously improve the Primary Energy Health and Safety Program in
    conjunction with plant management and corporate EHS to achieve the goals of the Health
    and Safety Policy.
  • Introduce innovative programs, training and reminders to create an environment where
    safety is a high and valued priority and embedded in the culture of the organization.
  • Perform hazard assessments for PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Permit Required Confined Space,
    Hazard Communication and Industrial Hygiene.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential
    hazards, and to ensure health and safety regulation compliance.
  • Interpret safety regulations for site-specific operating conditions and implement site
    specific requirements. Coach and mentor site management, staff, operators and
    contractors in areas of health and safety.
  • Maintain the plant OSHA 300 logs and safety statistics for all facilities.
  • Assist Management in administration of plant Safety Programs, to include, but not limited
    to: Lock Out Tag Out, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, Hazardous
    Communication and Contractor Safety.
  • Lead H&S training programs as required. Conduct visitor safety orientations. Coordinate
    external safety training programs as necessary.
  • Schedule, maintain, facilitate completion and close out health and safety tasks in the
    Primary Energy Compliance Management System.
  • Report incidents, conduct incident investigations and timely follow through on corrective
    action items until completion.
  • Assist with site environmental compliance programs such as RCRA/DOT, SPCC, Title V and
    SARA.
  • Maintain proactive and positive liaison role with operators, contractors, host site safety
    representative and emergency responders.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings with operators, record minutes and track action items to
    completion.
  • Conduct internal audits including compliance with safety codes for all equipment annually.
  • Conduct audits of contractor health as safety programs to ensure contractor compliance
    with safety regulations and plant policies.
  • Review and understand industrial host health and safety programs and ensure the
    Company’s programs equal to or exceed host requirements.
  • Support insurance company inspections and due diligence, and facilitate workers’
    compensation claims.

  • Knows how to troubleshoot, will promote highly reliable operations and safety while effectively managing the administration and customer relations.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of steam turbines, HRSG/boilers, and scrubbers.
  • Demonstration of competent arrangement, human relation and technical skills.
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Basic understanding of necessary federal and state licenses and permits.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) valid driver's licenses and US citizenship.
  • Great communication and analytical skills.
  • Fifteen (15)+ years of related progressive technical and supervisory training development programs.
  • Completion of appropriate business and accounting college level courses.
  • Instrument and controls experience with ability to work with ladder login and DCS systems.
  • US Navy training in power plant operations.

  • Provides input in developing long term strategic plans and associated budgets
  • Coordinates and administers PM program to include: tracking work orders, and
    implementing and optimizing current PM.
  • Maintains effective channels of communication and cooperation among and between plant personnel and other departments and 3 rd party contractors as appropriate.
